All Hands Needed, All Ages Welcome

Growing a Christ-centered community who welcomes gladly, sings joyfully and serves boldly!

PLC Mission Statement
Our Mission Statement Explained

Welcome Gladly: This is at the core of who we are as a congregation. It is our intention to energetically greet you, help you feel relaxed and appreciated, and make sure that when you depart you have been blessed by your worship experience.

Sing Joyfully: This is a great strength of our fellowship. Our music program is led by excellent music staff that elevate our worship. Our praise team, bell and channel choirs collaborate effectively to deliver an inspirational blended service.

Serve Boldly: This is at the center of following Jesus. We seek to involve every person to actively serve in some capacity. We practice our faith by quilting and greeting, joining the Care Team, servicing in leadership or traveling on a mission trip.

PLC Maintenance and Grounds Ministry

The PLC campus includes three main buildings: a parish house, a fellowship hall with classroom addition, and a sanctuary.  Two small rental homes and a garage on adjacent property are also managed by PLC.  Maintenance of all these properties relies mainly upon volunteer labor with various skills when needed and we have a list of individuals who can provide time and talent to maintain lawns and landscaping, repair plumbing, paint, do minor electrical work, or provide general labor.  Each spring and fall we gather a group of volunteers to spend a Saturday morning beautifying the facilities and grounds.  Our purpose is to maintain God’s gift of a welcoming campus for our members and the community at large.  Please let me know if you wish to participate in any way.  I would love to include you in this enjoyable ministry with whatever personal skills could contribute!

Altar Guild Ministry

The Altar Guild is concerned with the things of worship – the care and placement of furnishings, appointments, and ornaments used in worship. The overall goal of the Altar guild is to see that the worship space is kept beautiful and in good order, both to glorify God and to provide a setting which enables the congregation to worship in a meaningful way.

Members of the Altar Guild are servants of the liturgy that is, care takers of the church’s worship life. It is a high privilege to care for the things which symbolize God’s love and presence.

PLC Music Ministry

The PLC Music Ministry isn’t just for singers, in fact It provides singers, musicians, artists, poets, writers, and other creative people the opportunity to bless the congregation and visitors by hearing message of the Gospel from perspectives that enhance the spoken word. Musically, we have the Chancel Choir, Hand Bell Choir, and Praise Team, and the flexibility to add other vocal and instrumental ensembles, and soloists.

Here at Peninsula, we strive to usher our congregation into a worshipful space both in mind and spirit through the outstanding music provided.  Whether you prefer contemporary, classic, or a mix of both you will leave uplifted.  Our musical team consists of seasoned members both young and old. We provide opportunities for new members to connect in meaningful ways.  It is our goal for you to leave both uplifted and with a song to remain with you through the week to help keep you centered, and focused on our mission in the field.

12 Days of Christmas Mission

The 12 Days mission is an opportunity for every one of us to participate both actively and passively in the health and wellbeing of children in our community during the critical holiday period when schools are closed.  Through this mission we provide 12 days’ worth of groceries for needy families when schools are closed.  These are families with children who receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch during the school year but during the long-awaited Christmas break this service is not available and many of these kids have to go without breakfast or lunch because their families simply can’t provide for them.

Fish Food Bank Ministry

Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH began in June 1976 and was incorporated in August 1985 from a group of people who believed that every person in our community is our neighbor.  Neighbors care and take care of one another.  “Neighbor helping neighbor” has been our motto since our inception.  Everyone in the greater Gig Harbor peninsulas is a member of Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH by contributing food, money, clothing or housewares or volunteering in some aspect of its operation by receiving services.
